As I pack my life into boxes with labels, I'm losing my head. This is real.
I'm preparing to hit the road with a suitcase and a swag.
That means no daily idea of home, or not in the traditional I just want to get home to my own nice comfy bed sense.
It brings me to thinking... What is home anyway?* Define home.
*Dear Anonymous commenter from the previous post: I would appreciate your insight on this one too. In fact, why don't you write a lecture series on it? I'd be more than happy to fall asleep during it for you. Or maybe I should call that passing out - the difference appears to be a little unclear these days.

Home can be any place you feel comfortable, sleep well and know where the bowls and spoons are kept.
Home can be a place only kept in your memory, even though someone else may buy the house its still classified as your home.
Home is any place where you can get a hug, a cup of sugar at 3am or any place that welcomes you.
Home is what you make it babe.
Home is where your groove is at, Vic.
Well I feel home is somewhere where you feel comfortable, loved and welcome. Hoe is somewhere where you don't feel the need to impress anyone so you can stay in those daggy pjs until dinner if you want. But best of all home is where your heart is. By the way I was not the Anonymous thst you refer to in yesterdays lecture as I too fell asleep reading it.
I stumbled on your blog by accident. So I don’t know you or really anything about you. I just read what you had written and you posed a question at the end that I attempted to answer: “Is this the lesbian equivalent to girls saying that the guy they picked up couldn't get it up?”
Not being a lesbian, I can only tell you that you were the victim of a woman’s scorn, something recognized by you next commenter and that I am in a prime position to answer your question, as your subsequent comment is designed to scorn me through sarcasm. You had the audacity to compare your self to a male in this situation but can’t handle an answer form one. I have only your self admissions and your testimony of events to go by. If you were male then you would see that this “rumor”, is founded on partial fact. Fact is, if you loose consciousness you are “passing out”. You admitted to being at a pub and the title of the post implies that you were drinking. Therefore, this “other” may have justified the encounter, not as a rejection, but used that as an excuse to the non sexual event.
Your whole argument stems on the definition of “falling asleep” and the omission of the rejection to this rumor. You are taking the opportunity to scorn this “other” in retaliation for not putting events as you saw them. You also neglect to see how your self admissions could have added to this “other’s” perception of events. You imply that, by your admissions, that not sleeping with this woman was not that you didn’t want too but a subsequent act on conscious of “sleeping with a random stranger”. You admit to rejecting her after arriving at her house and not taking the opportunity to politely leave. If you were male you would have left knowing that you would wear the brunt of female irrationality.
To answer your message to me on the next post, home is where the heart is and I hoped you enjoyed your sleep while reading this. I wish you all the luck in the world in finding where ever fortune my see you settle. As long as you are surrounded by people that appreciate you for being nothing but yourself, then you are home.
I'm laughing my ass off now. The dude actually responded to that? Holy shit.
Whoa! Wait, I just started reading as well, I hope you really aren't leaving...
Home is anywhere you make it...Anywhere you are loved and welcomed with open arms and acceptance of who you are... I hope your home is happy and full of love.

Hey Vic, remember if you ever need a place to stay you are more than welcome here, even though sometimes it feels like my house is a combination of a mental hospital, child care centre and a zoo. I just hope that you find a lovely home where ever that may end up being. Yeah nice lecture from anonymous too. Do they actually believe what is coming out of their butts, Oh I mean mouths.
Don't gooooooo! At least too far from the internet! We love you!
We talked the other night about about change and we agreed that you and I both are incredibly brave! Yay for us!
If you accidently find yourself in Boise on your travels remember home is where people adore you.
As for anonymous, I would have appreciated him not using me as a reference in his manifesto, as my intention was that of a smart ass (and another chance to use the word pixie) and not a serious answer to your question. And really anyone who can't use their real name is hiding something... good for you to allowing him to stay here. Its entertaining.
stay safe babe

Home is where I belong. At the moment, it's a house with a garage and my bed and my cats and my family. there have been times when I have been away from this house but felt very much at home.
I hope you find it while you travel, Vic.
I agree with Kate. Home is what you make it. Home is where you decide to hang your hat. You can make a home anywhere so long as you are at home with yourself.
Home will be where you are when you feel like you're ready to put the suitcase down and unpack it for good.
