Place of local (dis)interest

On a walk today and I come across this bridge. It's been there for years, but I tend to ignore it. Our brilliant council tried to art up the park a few years ago, and this is one of the things we got. Along with some angular metal fountain thing, apparently a stylised duck, that promptly rusted and not even the ducks will take a crap on let alone recognise it as one of their own.

So this bridge... Aboriginal art? No way. Those things look to me like three week old doughnuts.

We've got metal ducks, too. Flat, metal ducks they spray painted blue and then bolted to the sides of an overpass. Someone tried to pry them off with pliers, so now pieces of them are bent and broken. It's all very classy.

I think that the council should spend money on the important things like music and fun. I loved the musical photos it looked like you had fun. That park looks familiar should it??? I'm sorry your day was stuffed yesterday with the weather.

Aww C'mon … The stonework's nice.
Now you've set us a challenge: the tackiest piece of public art.
I know just the piece. If it's not tipping it down on Saturday I'll go photograph it and post it.

Aw public art. We have thank here in Boise. I must find some pictures for you. We have this odd neon thing that is supposed to look like a airplane wing at the airport. It flashes in three different positions. I guess I get it. Then there is what looks to be a huge crack in the side of the Grove Hotel. Really it is supposed to be a river. It lights up (neon again) and it used to smoke but it was causing traffic accidents. *snicker*

Terroni: Are they still recognisable as metal ducks? I've got to take pictures of this thing, because I'm told it's a duck but like hell I can see the resemblance.

cj: Unfortunately the council spent money on a cool marimba bench seat and the drunken idiots in town have stuffed it do badly that it's been removed. Maybe that's why the other art is ugly - they leave it well alone then.

Dive: I'm in for a series, Dive. Challenge is on!

Nina: hmmm Neon. Say no more....
I can't get your photos to work, though.
